In the city of Ridder, East Kazakhstan Region (EKR), specialists have stepped up surveys of the area following new cases of bears appearing on allotment plots and in the private sector. Three crews of inspectors from the rapid response unit of the forestry and hunting department have been dispatched to the city.

A court in Astana has recovered more than 304 million tenge from a man convicted of issuing fictitious invoices.

A court has recovered more than 304 million tenge for the state from a resident of Astana convicted of organising the issue of fictitious electronic invoices. According to the prosecutor's office, the scheme led to the non-payment of taxes to the budget.

In 2026, cases of mass fish mortality were recorded in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China and Russia. The causes vary: shallowing and freezing of water bodies, oxygen deficiency, heat and algal blooms, municipal and industrial wastewater. Using individual episodes as examples, the article shows why it is impossible to draw conclusions about the cause of pollution from the appearance of dead fish without laboratory analysis. Particular attention is paid to the growing pressure on freshwater and the risks to water bodies amid climate change and rising water consumption.

Astana airport refused to respond to an official request from the Financial Monitoring Committee regarding violations totalling 395.4 million tenge, citing a formal deficiency in the preparation of the documents. However, the Committee of Internal State Audit of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which sent the company an order to eliminate the violations, answered all of the editorial board's questions without exception.

Kazakhstan has strengthened veterinary control on the border with Russia since the start of the year.

The Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture has responded to the FBRK publication regarding the internal memos of Yeris Nuraliyev. The department stated that restrictions on the import of livestock from Russia have been in effect since 13 January 2026, and the disinfection of vehicles at the border since 11 March 2026. Two internal investigations are being conducted with regard to Nuraliyev.

JSC "Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport" has published its 2024 reporting with an auditor's qualification regarding 80% of the company's assets. The auditor was appointed after the reporting date, which prevented confirmation of the accuracy of inventories and fixed assets. The company lost a court case to the internal state audit committee over a debt of 395.4 million tenge and was granted an instalment plan. Revenue from the fuel segment fell by 44% over the year.
