A convicted prisoner who has been serving his sentence in a penal colony since 2011 became an accomplice to a new extortion racket without leaving the correctional institution. The court handed him a final sentence of 8 years' imprisonment for his part in a crime he committed via video call.

Three criminal fraud cases are being investigated in parallel in Kazakhstan, in which Asiya Askarova is a suspect: following a complaint by Vostok Engineering LLP for 300 million tenge, a collective complaint by 15 citizens of Belarus for a sum of about $3 million, and a complaint by MELIOR PRIME LLP for 120 million tenge. In 2025, Askarova was also given a suspended sentence for fraud in a separate episode.

Kazphosphat LLP lost almost all of its equity capital over 2023–2025 - from 63.7 billion to 2.5 billion tenge. Losses were recorded for three years in a row, and debt grew to 156.4 billion tenge. Atyrau Airport has admitted an error in its own financial reporting

Atyrau Airport and the Committee for Internal State Audit of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan have responded to the FBK's enquiries following the analysis of the airport's financial statements for 2022–2024. The airport acknowledged a technical error in the calculation of earnings per share for 2022–2023 and incorrect disclosure of the interest expense on lease.
