The chairman of a gardening society and a female community activist were murdered in Karaganda.

In a house on the territory of the "Optimist" dacha community in Karaganda, the bodies of a 43-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were discovered with gunshot wounds. Both of the deceased held prominent positions in the local dacha community - the man ran the association and worked as a lawyer, while the woman was an active community figure in the district, which places this story beyond the scope of an ordinary domestic incident.

Sanjar Bokayev's ally Vladimir Kim has left the "NetUtilSboru" movement.

One of the co-founders of the NetUtilSboru movement, Vladimir Kim, has announced his departure from the group, relinquishing his administrative powers and ending his participation in public activity. He made this decision after an incident at the border, where, in his words, he unexpectedly encountered a temporary ban on leaving Kazakhstan.

Air pollution has been recorded in Atyrau following complaints from residents about a pungent smell.

Residents of Atyrau are complaining about a thick haze and a sharp, unpleasant smell, which is especially noticeable at night and in the early morning. Laboratory tests have confirmed that the levels of certain pollutants in the air are exceeded, and the authorities have begun investigating possible sources of the contamination.

The owner of "Plov Centre" and the director of the LPG filling station have each been sentenced to seven years following the tragedy in Shchuchinsk.

Burabay District Court has announced the sentence for three defendants in the case of the explosion and fire at the “Centre of Plov” café in Shchuchinsk. The three individuals involved in the case have received prison sentences ranging from 6 to 7 years.

The National Security Committee has identified 201 cases of corruption over two months in Kazakhstan.

In July–August 2026, the Anti-Corruption Service of the National Security Committee (ACS NSC) registered 201 corruption offences in Kazakhstan. Under criminal cases, 140 people were recognised as suspects, and 110 cases were sent to court.

Only about 1% of personal data protection complaints reach court each year.

After registering an LLP in Kazakhstan, entrepreneurs receive calls from private companies claiming to represent state agencies, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The editorial board of FBRK sent a request to the ministry and received a rather evasive response. Meanwhile, at an SCC briefing, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry reported that they receive 9,000 requests annually regarding personal data protection, yet only 180 cases have reached court over the past two years.

The sentence for sodomy is being appealed due to questions over the evidence in Pavlodar region.

The sister of one of the men convicted of violent sodomy and sentenced to 8 years in prison has contacted the FBRK editorial office. She claims that her brother is innocent, and that the case is based on police pressure and weak evidence.

The Ministry of Ecology recognised the holding of the international conference outside the procurement plan.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported that the anniversary meeting of the Interstate Coordination Water Management Commission was not included in the action plan which formed part of the tender documentation. New responses from the departments were received by the FBI after an appeal to the Presidential Administration regarding the case of Salamat Kabidayev, who has been unsuccessfully seeking payment for organising an international conference for almost four years.

The Balkhash City Court partially upheld the claim brought by the brother of Meruert Aulbayeva, who died in 2023 after treatment at the city hospital due to medical negligence, and ordered the medical institution to pay 2 million tenge in material damages and 10 million tenge in moral damages.

A public conflict has erupted around Kazakhstan's largest semi-wild saiga breeding project in the Korgalzhyn district of the Akmola region. The trigger was statements by hunter and public activist Batyr Seikenov, who questioned the legality of certain aspects of the project's implementation. The editors of FB RK examined the documents, compared them with public statements from both sides, and visited the territory of the nursery.
