In the Mangystau region, around 25,000 swans are wintering, mainly on the islands of the northern Caspian Sea. In recent days, the carcasses of 20 birds have been found near the villages of Sain Shapagatov and Aktau. Specialists are examining the sites of death and taking samples for analysis.
