In Shymkent, a man born in 1982 has been found guilty of illegally storing 1,977 deer antlers, which are derivatives of animals listed in the Red Book. The damage to nature has been estimated at nearly 3 billion tenge. The court sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in prison, and also ordered him to pay court costs. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed the situation with the spread of measles and the coverage of preventive vaccinations. According to the Ministry of Health, the incidence rate has decreased by 85% compared to 2024, yet 1,951 cases of infection have been registered since the beginning of the year. In the Pavlodar region, a scheme for the illegal export of birds listed in the Red Book has been uncovered. Among those detained are employees of the Bayanaul State National Nature Park. More than 40 birds, weapons and ammunition have been seized, with damages to the state exceeding 120 million tenge.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MIA) reported 158 identified drug offences in the first 10 days of February. 48 cases of drug sales were stopped, two laboratories were shut down, and nearly 20 kg of drugs and 1.7 tonnes of precursors were seized. Additionally, over 430 preventive meetings with young people were conducted.
