JSC "Halyk Insurance Company" received 43 administrative fines totalling 19.03 million tenge between January and July 2026. Most of the penalties relate to the untimely payment of insurance claims.

At least eight people have been killed and more than 20 injured in a shooting at a school in Thailand. According to police, the gunman was a ninth-grade student who, authorities allege, killed his grandmother and grandfather before the attack.

The government has allocated 1.4 billion tenge from the Special State Fund for the implementation of four projects to modernise water supply and wastewater systems in the Akmola region. A court in the state of New Mexico has ordered Meta to pay more than $567 million following a lawsuit brought by state authorities, who claimed that the company's activities caused harm to children and created a public nuisance. The company said it disagrees with the court's ruling and intends to appeal.

The Almaty prosecutor's office has filed an appeal petition for a lighter sentence for journalist Alexandra Alyokhova, previously convicted in a case of unlawful distribution of personal data. The final decision will be made by the court of appeal.

Public activist Serik Baigaliev helped uncover violations of transport legislation, called in inspectors from the transport control inspection for the Abai region to draw up materials regarding heavy goods vehicles, but afterwards an administrative protocol was also drawn up against him personally. The court later terminated the proceedings in the case due to the absence of the elements of an offence.

The State Mortgage Company (SMC), under the Presidential Property Management Department of Kyrgyzstan, is commissioning the construction of the "Muras" residential complex in Bishkek to two contractors linked to the circle of the Presidential Property Manager Kanibek Tumanbaev and President Sadyr Japarov.

For the first half of 2026, 1,995 non-residential facilities with a total value of 1.58 trillion tenge were commissioned in Kazakhstan. The most expensive construction category was office buildings, overtaking schools, power plants and car parks.
