Forest fires and extreme heat in several European countries have already caused economic damage of at least €3.1 billion. The figure has already exceeded the average annual damage from forest fires for the entire European Union. In Kazakhstan, meanwhile, the fire-danger season is ongoing, during which hundreds of forest fires have been officially registered.

In the village of Zhibek Zholy, Arshaly district, Akmola region, construction is underway on a physical education and wellness complex costing 1.65 billion tenge. The procurement was arranged through direct contract award, citing grounds related to the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations.

The Ministry of Defence has warned that in August and September, the movement of weaponry, military equipment and personnel will take place on the country's territory as part of the strategic command-staff exercise "Batyl Toityrys – 2026". Rail, road and air transport will be used to redeploy the troops.

Journalist Dinara Egeubayeva has published footage from a CCTV camera which, she says, captures the moment of a road traffic accident involving a cyclist in Almaty. The reason for the publication was reports in certain public pages and media outlets claiming that she had allegedly knocked down and killed a person. According to Egeubayeva, this information does not correspond to reality.

Kazakhstan's government debt has increased by 2.1 trillion tenge since the start of the year, reaching 38.5 trillion tenge. The main growth came from domestic debt, while the volume of external liabilities over this period declined.

The National Security Committee (NSC) has confirmed that a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into Aliya Makayeva, deputy head of the migration service department of the Astana police department (DP). The agency did not disclose further details about the case, citing the requirements of legislation.

Official responses from government bodies regarding the situation with the slaughterhouse in the village of Panfilovo, Almaty Region, have shown what violations were identified at the facility and what measures have already been taken. At the same time, some agencies reported that they had not conducted an inspection for reasons provided for by legislation.

The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has reported the identification of schemes involving the fictitious registration of around 140,000 citizens to medical organisations and the entry of false information about medical services provided. According to the agency, this led to the illegal receipt of funding from the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF). The established damage exceeds 3.5 billion tenge.

In July 2026, the Border Service of the National Security Committee (BS NSC) reported the detention of 4,975 violators of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the border area and the prevention of 2,476 cases of illegal movement of goods and cargo across the state border. The total value of prevented illegal movement exceeded 3.9 billion tenge.

A subterranean tunnel has been discovered in the Batken region on the border with Uzbekistan, which, according to preliminary information, may have been used for the illegal movement of goods. An inspection is currently being carried out in connection with the discovery.
