The FBK editorial office has received reports from residents of the Aktobe region concerned about the condition of the Ilek River. According to them, new quarries for the extraction of sand and sand-and-gravel mixtures are actively appearing along the floodplain. People fear that interference with the riverbed and floodplain system could have consequences not only for the ecology but also for the region's water supply.

She is suspected of leading a financial pyramid scheme that operated between 2018 and 2022, attracting funds from citizens under the pretence of high returns. The suspect has now been placed in a pre-trial detention centre.
