The Ministry of Health is conducting additional unscheduled inspections of medical organisations providing services in the field of plastic surgery. The inspections have been coordinated with the General Prosecutor’s Office and are aimed at strengthening state control over the activities of such clinics.

Meat production in Tajikistan has risen amid an increase in cattle mortality in Kazakhstan

In January–May 2026, Tajikistan produced 85,822 tonnes of meat from large and small livestock, which is 13.4% more compared to the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, in Kazakhstan over the same period, cattle mortality increased by 18.9%, whereas herd size grew by 3.9%.

The Ministry of Agriculture stated that there are no risks of a shortage of fuel for farmers.

Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has stated that it does not expect a shortage of fuels and lubricants (F&L) for carrying out major agrotechnical works, despite reports of a fuel deficit in neighbouring Russia. For agricultural producers in 2026, 800,000 tonnes of subsidised diesel fuel have been allocated, part of which has already been used during the spring field campaign.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MIA) reported 158 identified drug offences in the first 10 days of February. 48 cases of drug sales were stopped, two laboratories were shut down, and nearly 20 kg of drugs and 1.7 tonnes of precursors were seized. Additionally, over 430 preventive meetings with young people were conducted.

The court of Kazakhstan has passed a sentence on a citizen extradited from Turkey.

From the Republic of Türkiye, a citizen of the country has been extradited to Kazakhstan to face criminal prosecution. A jury found him guilty of incitement to bribery, fraud, and document forgery. A sentence of 10 years' imprisonment has been imposed, and the verdict has entered into legal force.

Referendum on the new Constitution scheduled in Kazakhstan for 15 March 2026

The head of state signed a Decree on holding a national referendum on 15 March 2026. The draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, published on 12 February 2026, is being put to a vote. The preparation and organisation of the referendum have been assigned to the Central Election Commission and the relevant territorial and precinct commissions.
