Despite the increase in official figures for the processing of municipal solid waste (MSW), the waste management system in Kazakhstan still delivers a modest result. Most of the waste, even after sorting, ends up being landfilled, while the volumes of secondary raw materials actually obtained remain minimal.

Several schools in the Yereymentau district of the Akmola Region risk running out of coal in the middle of the heating season. The fuel supplier, Zhan Real LLP, has declared its intention to withdraw the remaining coal stocks from educational institutions.

Kazakhstan's economy could have lost around $1 billion in December of this year alone due to disruptions in the operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This was stated by oil and gas industry analyst Olzhas Baidildinov, commenting on the reduction in oil shipment volumes.
