The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) has reported the results of its anti-corruption work for the first half of 2026. According to the department, 234 internal affairs officers failed the integrity check, and 302 employees were dismissed over the six-month period. At the same time, the MVD stated that a number of disciplinary offences had decreased, while the number of reports of attempted bribery had increased.

The General Prosecutor's Office has secured the quashing of an unlawful amnesty in a case concerning the embezzlement of budgetary funds.

The cassation court overturned the application of amnesty for the convicted person in the case of embezzlement of budget funds in the Atyrau region and reinstated the original sentence of 7 years' imprisonment. Previously, the court of first instance had reduced the sentence after applying amnesty.

Former director of the FSMS branch detained in bribery case in Zhetysu region

The case files were reviewed by prosecutors Aida Imanaliyeva and Aliya Sarsekeyeva, after which the investigation identified a third participant in the crime. The specialised inter-district administrative court of Kostanay Region ruled that the refusal of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan to pay cash bonuses to athletes Anatoly Veklich and Murat Kintonov for their prize-winning places at the World Sambo and Judo Championships in 2016–2018 was unlawful. The court ordered the department to make the payments in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law.
