11 August 2026, a fatal road accident occurred in the Enbekshikazakh district of the Almaty region involving an employee of the "Government for Citizens" branch, who was behind the wheel of a service vehicle. A pedestrian, a 77-year-old woman, died after being struck.

A resident of the town of Atbasar in the Akmola region has stated that after being diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, her right fallopian tube was removed, yet roughly a month later it emerged that the pregnancy was actually intrauterine and had continued. She is now almost nine months pregnant.

Patients at the Aktas psychiatric hospital have reported cruel treatment

Patients of the Republican Psychiatric Hospital of a specialised type with intensive observation (RPB STIN) in the village of Aktas, Almaty Region, have alleged cruel treatment, forced labour, and the use of medication as punishment. At the same time, an official inspection, which concluded on 7 August 2026, did not confirm the previously reported accusations.

The Ministry of Health has identified illnesses in 242,000 children following medical check-ups in Kazakhstan.

In the first half of 2026, 2.3 million children underwent preventive medical check-ups. Various diseases were detected in 242,000 children, or 11% of those examined, with the most common being caries, anaemia and myopia.

Air Astana and FlyArystan have cancelled flights to Dubai until 30 September.

Air Astana has extended the cancellation of flights from Almaty and Astana to Dubai until 30 September 2026 inclusive. For October, the airline has also adjusted its schedule and reduced flight frequency. FlyArystan has suspended flights on the Aktau — Dubai — Aktau route.

The Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture refused to provide the FBRK editorial office with information regarding the import of cattle. During the review of the FBRK complaint, a hearing was scheduled for the same day and deemed not to have taken place, although by law two working days were allotted for it.
