Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstan has suppressed 25 cases of illegal sale of electronic nicotine delivery systems. At present, 37 criminal cases are under investigation, and more than 276,000 electronic nicotine delivery systems have been seized from illicit circulation.

A resident of the Kyzylorda region went to court after a gauze swab was left inside his body during an operation to remove a cyst. The foreign object was only discovered two months later, during a second surgical procedure.

In 2025, economic entities in Kazakhstan allocated 813.3 billion tenge to environmental protection. This is almost 1.8 times higher than the 2024 figure, when expenditure amounted to 456.1 billion tenge. At the same time, data on air pollution do not make it possible to unequivocally link the rise in expenditure to an improvement in the environmental situation.

Two men, born in 2001 and 2002, were carried approximately 4 km from the shore of the Astana reservoir while paddleboarding. Due to a sudden gusty wind and high waves, they were unable to return to the shore on their own.

In the village of Nogayty, Aktobe region, a fire station was ceremonially opened on 1 August. When hay caught fire on the farm of a local resident with a disability on 9 August, residents found the station closed and the fire engine without any crew.

In the Bulandinsky district of the Akmola region, the police have solved a series of thefts from a water supply infrastructure facility. According to the investigation, the suspects stole a diesel generator unit worth around 7 million tenge, and later — components for it worth more than 400 thousand tenge.

In the Karatal district of the Zhetysu region, a former flour-milling plant that has been idle for more than 10 years is being restored. In the first phase of the project, worth 4.1 billion tenge, the enterprise is being modernised and prepared for the launch of compound animal feed production.
