The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has proposed moving some offences related to the acquisition, storage and transportation of drugs without intent to sell from the criminal to the administrative sphere. At the same time, criminal liability for drug-related activities involving large and especially large quantities, as well as for drug trafficking, will be retained.

According to FBKK sources, searches were conducted on 26 August at the home of Gani Salmayev, deputy chairman of the committee for road transport and transport control of the Ministry of Transport. According to preliminary data, Salmayev is charged under Articles 361 and 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A raid was carried out in Astana's Triathlon Park to ensure cleanliness and order were being maintained.

Another preventative patrol took place in Astana's City Triathlon Park, during which district administration staff and police checked compliance with cleanliness and public order in the area. The patrol was organised under the "Law and Order" principle and the "Taza Qazaqstan" campaign, and is aimed at preventing offences in the park.

The proportion of smoking adults in Kazakhstan has fallen to 15.1%, reports the Bureau of National Statistics. At the same time, law enforcement agencies are recording an increase in cases of smuggled unmarked cigarettes, mainly from Kyrgyzstan.

The Department of Housing and Utilities and Housing Inspection of the Burabay District, without a tender, entered into a contract with the individual entrepreneur "Favorit" for the repair of an administrative building in Shchuchinsk for 26 million tenge. Checks in Akkol have revealed violations in the implementation of environmental and veterinary projects

In the Akkol district, residents complained for several months about a strong smell coming from the 'Agro Protein' LLP plant, which processes hides, and about the construction of veterinary facilities on land without proper documentation. Inspections confirmed some of the violations: the plant has been fined and suspended, and the state authority is seeking through the courts to revoke the environmental permit that allowed it to operate.

In the social network Threads, a user posted an advert to buy electronic digital signatures (EDS) from people who travelled abroad from September 2025, for 25,000 tenge. Judging by the wording, the signature is needed for "phone verification" – a procedure introduced in Kazakhstan for smartphones brought in from abroad.
