His mother claims that shortly before the incident, police officers attempted to forcibly take her son to the military enlistment office. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.

The specialised inter-district criminal court of the Atyrau region found Sultan Sarsemaliyev guilty in the case of the murder of a family of four and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court also ordered the convicted man to pay the injured party 40 million tenge in compensation for moral harm.

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Veterinary Medicine for 2026–2030. The document envisages a 1.5 to 2.5-fold increase in veterinary salaries, an 80% upgrade to the material and technical base, and large-scale digitalisation of the sector. At the same time, systemic problems in veterinary medicine — staff shortages, disease outbreaks, and corruption — have not gone away.
