Kazakhstan's oil and gas sector saw a 40% increase in accidents in the first quarter of 2026.

In Kazakhstan, seven accidents at oil and gas facilities were recorded in the first quarter, which is 40% higher than the previous year's level. State authorities carried out 226 inspections, identified over 5,000 violations, and suspended the operation of 312 hazardous facilities.

Investment income of the UAPF in Kazakhstan decreased by 240 billion tenge

The investment income of the UAPF fell by 240 billion tenge in March. The National Bank of Kazakhstan explained the change by the strengthening of the tenge against the dollar, as around 40% of pension assets are denominated in foreign currency. At the same time, since the start of the year the indicator has remained positive, exceeding 270 billion tenge.

The Anti-Corruption Service of the National Security Committee has shut down a channel for the illegal import of goods across the state border of Kazakhstan. By court order, an official from the state revenue authorities of the West Kazakhstan Region and a resident of the capital have been detained. According to the investigation, the damage to the state amounted to 1.9 billion tenge.

The Economic Court of the Abai Region considered a claim by the State Municipal Enterprise "Semey Vodokanal" regarding access to engineering networks and the demolition of structures above the sewage collector. The claim was dismissed, as the emergency had been resolved. However, the court identified serious violations in the design and construction of the building and forwarded the materials to the prosecutor of the Abai Region.
