During the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan, the heads of the two states were shown the launch of the unmanned cargo truck route "Astana – Moscow".

Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin were presented with joint trade and economic projects between Kazakhstan and Russia. The portfolio of industrial cooperation between the two countries includes 177 projects with a total value of $52.7 billion.

State revenue authorities have identified 263 legal entities that used the corporate reorganisation procedure to obtain an unjustified VAT tax advantage. The total amount of VAT excess amounted to 31.7 billion tenge.

In the Turkestan region, a project to artificially induce precipitation has been launched, involving engineers from the UAE. The initiative aims to increase the volume of rainwater and support the region's agricultural sector. However, experts who have studied open data and climate indicators have noted a discrepancy between the stated goals of the project and the actual natural conditions of the region.

In Astana, a child on a bicycle died in a road traffic accident involving a lorry. The minor died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

An An-2 aircraft crashed on 27 May 2026 near the village of Zhelezinka in the Pavlodar region. There were two people on board. One pilot died, and the other was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
