QAMS criticises the involvement of artificial intelligence on the board of directors of Samruk-Kazyna

The Kazakhstan Association of Minority Shareholders (QAMS) stated that there has been no official response from the government to its request regarding the appointment of the artificial intelligence Samruk-Kazyna Artificial Intelligence (SKAI) as an independent director on the board of the Samruk-Kazyna fund. In response to the request, the fund stated that the decision was made by the sole shareholder — the government.

The founder of the FBRK was forcibly taken to the Kostanay police station to stand trial.

Founder of the FBRK, Kirill Pavlov, was taken to the Kostanay police department on the morning of 14 November, where they intend to hold a court hearing on an administrative case under Part 4 of Article 456-2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The journalist was on a work trip when police officers arrived at his rented apartment and, under the pretext of taking a statement, forcibly took him to the department. According to Pavlov, they want to try him directly inside the police station.

Kazakhstani journalists face increased difficulty in publishing images

In Kazakhstan, amendments have been proposed to the Law "On Mass Media", which would effectively require journalists to obtain separate permission each time they use images before publishing them. According to experts, this initiative could create additional restrictions for media representatives and complicate the fulfilment of their professional duties.
