The specialised inter-district administrative court of Kostanay Region ruled that the refusal of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan to pay cash bonuses to athletes Anatoly Veklich and Murat Kintonov for their prize-winning places at the World Sambo and Judo Championships in 2016–2018 was unlawful. The court ordered the department to make the payments in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law.

The court found them guilty and sentenced each to 7 years' imprisonment. They will serve their sentences in a medium-security facility.
