On the territory of the military unit of the Arys garrison, dry grass caught fire on the evening of 19 August. During the fire, a fragment of an ammunition item previously prepared for disposal detonated. There are no casualties or destruction.

In the Zhylyoi district of Atyrau region, a new school, "Keleshek mektebi", with capacity for 1,200 pupils, has begun operating. Admissions of students to the educational institution started on 12 August.

In Kazakhstan, it has been proposed to fully exempt from individual income tax (IIT) citizens whose bad loans have been written off by banks due to fraud or difficult life circumstances. Kazakhstan's largest cinema chain, Kinopark, has stopped charging mandatory fees for film promotional advertising following intervention by the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition (APDC). The cost of promotion ranged from 20 to 60 million tenge.

Since the beginning of the year, eight people have been hospitalised in the Turkestan region with a diagnosis of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever. Among those affected were citizens of Uzbekistan.

A teacher at a state school in Atyrau has said that she was forced to carry out repairs to her classroom, do cleaning, and perform other maintenance work. According to the teacher, she completed some of these tasks herself because she wanted to get the classroom in order for her pupils.
