In the Kostanay region, a teacher from one of the schools under the education department of the regional akimat has been convicted. She was found guilty under paragraph 4 of part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (“Fraud, that is, the theft of another’s property through deception or abuse of trust of an information system user, committed repeatedly”).

Majilis deputy Guldara Nurym has proposed tightening the regulation of surrogacy in Kazakhstan, citing risks of exploitation of women and potential violations of children's rights. According to her, the current norms do not fully protect participants in the programmes and create conditions for conflicts related to the citizenship and legal status of newborns.

The authorities of Kazakhstan have introduced a quota on beef exports in the amount of 13,000 tonnes until 31 December. The restrictions apply to the export of fresh, chilled and frozen bovine meat and are in effect both for EAEU countries and for other states. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov.

The Auliekol District Court of Kostanay Region has passed a sentence in a case concerning the embezzlement of over 9 million tenge from a heat and power company. The chief accountant of the enterprise was found guilty under paragraph 1, part 3, article 189 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Misappropriation or embezzlement of entrusted property on a large scale using official position").
