Almaly District Court of the city of Almaty has heard a criminal case against three former employees of Air Astana and FlyArystan airlines, accused of embezzlement and money laundering. Two defendants received sentences of 8 years and 6 months each, and a third received 9 years' imprisonment with confiscation of property. The court's verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

The State Revenue Committee has clarified the procedure for monitoring mobile transfers by individuals. Banks will transmit information to the tax authorities when three criteria are simultaneously met: regularity of transfers, number of senders, and total amount. Automatic account blocking or closure of transactions is not envisaged.
