The national company KTZ has announced the placement of bonds worth $1 billion in two tranches with maturities of up to 5 and 10 years. The funds will be directed towards investment projects, including the purchase of locomotives from Wabtec. The placement will take place on international markets, as well as on the KASE and AIX exchanges. In light of the deal, the company’s debt burden has risen to nearly 3 trillion tenge, although KTZ states that it maintains financial stability and the ability to service its obligations.

Russia from 1 May ceases the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. Kazakhstan has received written notification from the company Transneft. The route was used for supplying raw materials to the refinery in Schwedt, and in the first quarter of 2026, exports along this direction increased to 730,000 tonnes. The reasons for the halt and the timeline for a possible resumption of supplies have not been specified.

Deputy of the Aktobe City Maslikhat, Aslan Kairgaliyev, has been censured after a video emerged showing him handing 4 million tenge to a newlywed couple. The deputy himself stated that the money did not belong to him personally and had been collected by friends.
