Sanjar Bokayev has been detained in Almaty on suspicion of large-scale fraud. According to the investigation, he may not only have distributed videos about tree felling and thefts, but also organised these actions himself, recruiting people for money. His involvement in the embezzlement of funds is also being investigated. Guilt has not been proven, and the investigation is ongoing.
Court No.2 of Atyrau has replaced the prison sentence of former deputy akim of Atyrau Region, Bakytgul Khamenova, with 7 years of restricted liberty under probation supervision. The decision was made after the expiry of a three-year deferral of the sentence in a bribery case.
