In Shchuchinsk, an elderly couple died in a fire in a private house. According to preliminary data, a 39-year-old local resident is suspected of arson.
WHAT IS KNOWN
According to Tengrinews.kz, the fire occurred in the early hours of 29 September in the town of Shchuchinsk, Akmola Region. The area of the fire was 90 square metres.
According to the Akmola Region Emergency Situations Department (ESD), firefighters who arrived at the scene extinguished the fire. During firefighting, they found and carried the bodies of a man and a woman out of the house.
The cause of the fire is being established.
WHAT THE POLICE SAID
According to the Akmola Region Police Department (PD), a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident.
According to the police's preliminary version, a 39-year-old local resident was involved in the arson. As a result of the fire, a married couple living in the house died.
The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention centre (TDC).
