A shepherd in the Zhetysu region has come under investigation following the disappearance of livestock worth 46 million tenge.

In the Yeskeldinsky district of the Zhetysu region, 39 head of pedigree livestock worth over 46 million tenge went missing. The animals were later returned to their owner, and a suspect has been detained in connection with the case.

WHAT HAPPENED

According to Polisia.kz, on 13 April a local resident contacted the police. He reported that out of 81 head of pedigree cattle of the “Alatauskaya” breed, 39 animals did not return from the pasture.

The preliminary material damage is estimated at over 46 million tenge.

WHO WAS DETAINED

During the pre-trial investigation, police officers identified a suspect. According to the investigation, a 45-year-old herder, who had been grazing this livestock for 17 years and worked for the farm owner for a long time, may be involved in the disappearance of the animals.

After carrying out the necessary operational and investigative measures, the man was detained. A preventive measure of custody has been imposed on the suspect.

HOW THE SEARCH ENDED

According to the police, all of the livestock has been returned to the owner. Investigative actions in the case are ongoing.

This means that only a court can make final procedural decisions and conclusions about guilt after examining the case.
