The Border Service of the National Security Committee (BS NSC) reported that attempts to export undeclared cash across the state border had been stopped. During the period from 30 June to 7 July, 38 such cases were recorded at checkpoints, and the total amount of funds discovered exceeded 636 million tenge.
WHAT VIOLATIONS WERE IDENTIFIED
According to the press service of the NSC, officers of the department are continuously working to prevent the illegal export of cash from the country.
During the period from 30 June to 7 July, 38 attempts to transport undeclared currency were identified at checkpoints. The total amount of cash discovered was more than 636 million tenge.
WHAT WAS FOUND AT THE KORDAY CHECKPOINT
One of the most significant cases was recorded at the Korday vehicle checkpoint in the Zhambyl Region. During a baggage inspection of a foreign national, $350,000 was discovered, equivalent to 170,037,000 tenge.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER VIOLATIONS ARE IDENTIFIED
Materials related to all identified incidents have been forwarded to the competent state authority for a procedural decision.
The BS NSC reminded that the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan prohibits the export of cash from the country if its amount exceeds the equivalent of $10,000 without complying with the established requirements.
