How sand extraction is destroying the Ilek River in the Aktobe region
The FBK editorial office has received reports from residents of the Aktobe region concerned about the condition of the Ilek River. According to them, new quarries for the extraction of sand and sand-and-gravel mixtures are actively appearing along the floodplain. People fear that interference with the riverbed and floodplain system could have consequences not only for the ecology but also for the region's water supply.

The Ethics Commission of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs (ACS) identified a violation of standards of official ethics and recommended issuing a warning about incomplete professional compliance. The decision was implemented by an order of the city’s akim dated 6 April 2026.

It involves a method that uses the function of linking additional devices without cracking passwords or swapping SIM cards. Users have been urged to check their list of linked devices and not to share verification codes with third-party resources.
