Прокуратура ВКО пресекла незаконные госзакупки на 90 млн тенге

The Prosecutor's Office of the Ulansky District identified violations in the planning of public procurement in the East Kazakhstan Region. Following prosecutorial oversight, projects worth over 90 million tenge were removed from the plans until the documentation was brought into compliance with legal requirements.

In several regions of Kazakhstan, cases of mass illness among cattle are being recorded. Doctor of Veterinary Sciences Gaisa Absatirov believes that the clinical picture is consistent with foot-and-mouth disease. However, the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan refused to provide statistics on outbreak sites and vaccination data, citing the classification "For official use only".

The Government of Kazakhstan has outlined its approach to arbitration reform.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has responded to a Senate inquiry regarding reform of arbitration legislation. The government has proposed introducing compulsory liability insurance for arbitrators and simplifying the process for invalidating individual arbitration agreements. The initiative to recognise affiliation as an unconditional ground for setting aside a decision was not supported.

Former Rector of MUIT released under amnesty after sentence for embezzlement of 1.7 billion tenge

Former rector of the International University of Information Technologies (IUIT) Damir Shynybekov, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison in 2020 for embezzlement, was released in February 2026 after his sentence was recalculated to take into account an amnesty, the Committee of the Criminal Enforcement System (CCES) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

In the West Kazakhstan Region (WKR), a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the illegal use of budget funds on an especially large scale. According to the prosecutor's office, a bookkeeper from a state-owned enterprise is the suspect. The total damage is estimated at 118 million tenge.
