In Semey, the Department of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) for the Abai region has shut down an illegal workshop producing alcohol without a licence. According to the investigation, a local resident organised the manufacturing of products using counterfeit excise stamps. During searches, over 12,000 bottles, raw materials and equipment were seized. The court has placed a lien on the property, and a preventive measure has been selected for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

The prosecutor requested a six-year sentence for former deputy akim of the East Kazakhstan Region, Zhaksylyk Omar.
