In Almaty and the Almaty Region, round-the-clock monitoring of moraine lakes at risk of bursting has begun, using seasonal high-mountain observation posts. The posts operate throughout the entire mudflow-hazard period and are designed to monitor the hydrological situation and provide rapid transmission of information in the event of threats.

The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek has passed a sentence on the former chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, and seven other defendants in the case known as "Letter 75". The court found them guilty on one of the charges, sentencing each to four years' imprisonment. The Akimat of Bukhar-Zhyrau district of Karaganda region has commented on the water supply situation in the village of Kushoky after residents appealed to the President. The response states that a temporary deterioration in water quality occurred when new water supply networks were brought into operation, and that specialists are currently continuing work to stabilise the system and awaiting the results of laboratory tests.
