Almaty city services are operating in an enhanced mode following the blackout.
In Almaty on 14 August there was a large-scale failure of external electricity supply, which temporarily halted the metro, switched off some traffic lights and caused interruptions to the water supply in certain districts. City services are working in an intensified mode, and medical organisations are using backup power sources.
