The court remanded Amir Kasenov into custody for repeatedly violating the terms of his house arrest.
The editor-in-chief of the KazTAG news agency, Amir Kassenov, announced the expiry of his house arrest and published a video address on social media. However, the Almaty City Court issued an official clarification stating that the preventive measure was still in effect. Later, during a court hearing, the court changed Kassenov's preventive measure to detention on remand.
