The injured man in the road traffic accident (RTA) involving former Mazhilis deputy Bakytzhan Bazarbek's relative Nurzhigit has regained consciousness after 24 days. The man has come round and recognises his loved ones.

WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE VICTIM'S CONDITION

Bakytzhan Bazarbek reported the change in Nurzhigit's condition on his Instagram page. According to him, the man recognises his mother, wife, children, brothers and other relatives.

Nurzhigit continues his treatment in Taraz. As Bazarbek reported, specialists from the anaesthesiology and intensive care department, led by intensive care doctor Gamzat Musayev, are working with the victim.

TREATMENT CONTINUES

Despite coming out of the coma, Nurzhigit still requires intensive treatment. The statement also says that the necessary support is being provided by the Ministry of Health.

Bazarbek thanked the doctors and Kazakh citizens who had supported the victim and his family. He also called on the media not to distort information about the man's condition and not to spread unconfirmed reports.

CONTEXT

Earlier, it became known that Bakytzhan Bazarbek was linked to the road traffic accident in the Zhambyl region, in which a 36-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised in intensive care. According to preliminary information, the man was diagnosed with fractures to the ribs, forearm and shin, a closed head injury and a brain contusion.

The Police Department of the Zhambyl region reported that a criminal case had been opened. Investigative actions are ongoing.

Later, Bazarbek reported that the investigation was continuing, and that he and his wife had signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding the pre-trial investigation.
