In the Pavlodar region, an inspection of sausage products revealed an item containing porcine DNA, although this information was not included on the labelling. The product in question is a Belarusian beef cervelat.

WHAT WAS FOUND DURING THE INSPECTION

According to the deputy head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Pavlodar region, Gulnara Akylbekova, a sausage product was identified during the inspection that contained porcine DNA, despite the absence of such information on the product labelling, reports Obozrenie.kz.

According to the departmental representative, the product in question is a Belarusian beef cervelat.

WHAT MEASURES WERE TAKEN

As reported by Gulnara Akylbekova, the investigation established that the product supplier is a wholesale warehouse in Almaty.

Information regarding the identified violation has been sent to the territorial department of Almaty for further action.

According to the departmental representative, a valid declaration of conformity was provided for the product. Accompanying shipping documentation was also available.
