In the Akmola Region, the driver of a pleasure electric bus was detained after a medical examination confirmed he was in a state of moderate alcohol intoxication. There were five passengers inside the vehicle.
HOW THE DETENTION HAPPENED
According to Polisia.kz, officers from the patrol police company, while patrolling Kenesary Street in the settlement of Burabay, noticed a pleasure electric bus with its rear tail lights switched off.
During the check, the police established that there were five passengers on board who were travelling from one of the local holiday homes. While speaking with the driver, the officers detected a smell of alcohol and sent him for a medical examination.
WHAT THE EXAMINATION SHOWED
Initially, the driver refused to provide his details, but subsequently agreed to undergo the necessary procedures. The results of the medical examination established that he was in a state of moderate alcohol intoxication.
In addition, the police discovered that the man had previously been deprived of his driving licence.
WHAT THE DRIVER SAID
According to the driver himself, he was undergoing an internship as a driver at one of the recreation areas and decided to give some acquaintances a ride around the resort zone. The trip ended with an encounter with patrol police officers.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into this incident. Measures are being taken against the driver in accordance with the law.
WHAT BUSINESS OWNERS ARE BEING REMINDED
The police urged business owners, especially those representing recreation and tourism facilities, to check more carefully the documents and information about employees before hiring them.
In particular, employers must verify that drivers hold a valid driving licence and that there are no restrictions preventing them from being permitted to work.
