The National Security Committee has identified 201 cases of corruption over two months in Kazakhstan.

In July–August 2026, the Anti-Corruption Service of the National Security Committee (ACS NSC) registered 201 corruption offences in Kazakhstan. Under criminal cases, 140 people were recognised as suspects, and 110 cases were sent to court.

WHAT WAS REGISTERED OVER TWO MONTHS

According to the NSC press service, the majority of registered offences relate to bribery, embezzlement, fraud, abuse and exceeding of official powers.

The amount of confirmed damage in completed criminal cases totalled 3.7 billion tenge.

HOW MANY CRIMINAL CASES WERE COMPLETED

Over July and August 2026, investigations into 126 criminal cases were completed. Of these, 110 cases were sent to court.

Under criminal cases, 140 individuals were recognised as suspects.

CONTEXT

On 22 August 2026, new rules for rewarding citizens who report impending, ongoing or committed corruption offences came into force in Kazakhstan. The maximum amount of a one-off cash reward is 17.3 million tenge.

The changes were introduced by order of the NSC Chairman dated 5 August 2026. The amount of the payment depends on the size of the bribe or the damage caused.
