Information has spread on social media about an alleged ban on parking cars in residential areas coming into effect from 1 July 2026. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has stated that no such changes have been made to the traffic regulations.
WHAT THE MIA CLARIFIED
According to Polisia.kz, the clarification was prompted by information circulating on social media about an alleged ban on parking vehicles in residential areas coming into force from 1 July 2026.
The MIA emphasised that the information about the introduction of new restrictions is not true. The requirements for stopping and parking vehicles remain unchanged.
At the same time, the current provisions of the traffic regulations continue to prohibit stopping and parking cars on flowerbeds, lawns, children's play areas, and sports grounds.
WHICH RULES REMAIN IN FORCE
The department reminded that road users are obliged to comply with the requirements of the traffic regulations, to be attentive, and to show mutual respect on the roads.
The MIA paid particular attention to child safety issues. Parents and legal representatives were advised to monitor the behaviour of minors, regularly explain to them the rules of safe conduct on the street, and the inadmissibility of playing on the carriageway or near roads.
COMMENT FROM A DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE
MIA Press Secretary Shugyla Turlybek noted that compliance with traffic regulations and shared responsibility among all road users are necessary to prevent road traffic accidents and ensure safety.
