Ministry of Health is conducting additional unscheduled inspections of medical organisations providing services in the field of plastic surgery. The inspections have been coordinated with the General Prosecutor's Office and are aimed at strengthening state control over the activities of such clinics.
WHY INSPECTIONS ARE BEING CARRIED OUT
Additional unscheduled inspections have been organised to strengthen state control over the activities of medical organisations working in the field of plastic surgery. If violations are identified, response measures will be taken in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
WHAT VIOLATIONS HAVE BEEN FOUND PREVIOUSLY
From 2021 to the present, the territorial departments of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health have carried out 92 unscheduled inspections of medical organisations providing services in the field of plastic surgery.
The highest number of inspections occurred in 2024. The ministry explained that this is due to an increase in the number of citizen complaints regarding the quality and safety of medical care.
As a result of the inspections, violations of licensing requirements, standards for organising medical care, rules for maintaining medical documentation, as well as isolated cases of carrying out medical activities without the relevant permits, were identified.
WHAT MEASURES HAVE ALREADY BEEN TAKEN
For the violations identified, the territorial departments of the committee issued binding orders to rectify them.
Furthermore, 24 administrative offence reports were drawn up. The total amount of administrative fines amounted to 4.8 million tenge.
INSPECTIONS FOLLOWING FATALITIES
As part of the control measures, the territorial departments of the committee also conducted unscheduled inspections regarding individual cases of fatalities following plastic surgeries.
The most high-profile cases were recorded in Almaty, Astana, and Mangystau Region. Based on the inspection results, materials were sent to law enforcement agencies for a procedural decision within their competence.
