115 million m³ of water was directed into the floodplain of the Shiderty River in the Pavlodar Region. This made it possible to water 21,000 hectares of land and provide a fodder base for around 450 livestock farms.
HOW THE WATERING WAS CARRIED OUT

According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Pavlodar branch of RSE "Kazvodkhoz" directed water into the Shiderty liman irrigation system in 2026.
The water was supplied through the Shiderty main canal, which is 67.45 km long, and a water-conveying channel 112 km long.
WHICH TERRITORIES RECEIVED WATER
The watering covered the territories of six rural districts of Ekibastuz and the Aktogay district. Thanks to this, around 450 agricultural producers gained the opportunity to procure roughage for livestock.
The release of water is also necessary to maintain the level of the Auliekol lake system, including lakes Basentin, Shyganak, Bozaigyr and Zhalaily.
WHY THE WATERING IS CARRIED OUT ANNUALLY
First Vice-Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurlan Aldamzharov said that such measures help preserve the region's ecosystems and protect water bodies from depletion.
The watering of limans and natural pastures also supports the fodder base of livestock farming and local agriculture.
CONTEXT
Earlier, "Kazvodkhoz" reported that since the beginning of 2026 it had directed 881.4 million m³ of water for environmental purposes in the Kyzylorda Region. The water is intended to maintain 181 lake systems, as well as to water hayfields and pastures.
By the end of the year, the enterprise plans to direct a further 360 million m³ of water.
