After the discovery of Class B medical waste near the village of Baikonyz in the West Kazakhstan Region (WKR), new details have emerged about the company responsible for its disposal. It transpired that the contractor services not only city polyclinics but also other medical institutions in the region.
WHAT INFORMATION HAS EMERGED ABOUT THE CONTRACTOR
According to the public procurement portal, in 2026, waste management services for polyclinics No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 in Uralsk are being provided by Individual Entrepreneur "Kemel", reports the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN".
The total value of contracts with the three medical institutions exceeds 8.2 million tenge. The technical specifications state that medical waste of classes B and C must be disposed of by incineration.
An inspection revealed no violations on the part of the polyclinics themselves. Furthermore, it became known that the problem arose during the disposal stage.
WHICH OTHER INSTITUTIONS HAVE CONTRACTS
Judging by the data on the public procurement portal, IE "Kemel" has similar contracts with other medical organisations in the region.
These include the West Kazakhstan Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital and the plague control station.

Earlier, medical waste was discovered at a solid household waste landfill near the village of Baikonyz in the WKR. Specialists confirmed the presence of used syringes and test tubes with biomaterials and began an inspection. According to preliminary data, the weight of the medical waste found was 144 kg. Among the waste were test tubes containing biomaterials, used syringes, and other materials of medical origin.
