Government agencies received vehicles belonging to Perizat Kairat free of charge. This option is provided for by law for law enforcement agencies and is aimed at saving budget funds.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to BES.media, the transfer of the vehicles was announced by the Chairman of the State Property and Privatisation Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Nurmakhan Adilbekov.
He stated that law enforcement government bodies have the right, enshrined in regulatory legal acts, to receive property confiscated in accordance with the established procedure free of charge.
WHY THE VEHICLES ARE BEING TRANSFERRED FOR FREE
According to Nurmakhan Adilbekov, this mechanism helps to reduce government spending.
"They receive them for free. This measure is provided to save budget money. Instead of purchasing these vehicles, it is better to take them from confiscated property. This right is enshrined for law enforcement state bodies in regulatory legal acts," said the head of the State Property and Privatisation Committee.
WHO CAN RECEIVE CONFISCATED PROPERTY
As explained by Nurmakhan Adilbekov, law enforcement government bodies have the right to receive such assets. The materials do not specify which particular departments received the vehicles.
The Chairman of the State Property and Privatisation Committee of the Ministry of Finance noted that the corresponding right is provided for by current regulatory legal acts.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS NO INTEREST IN THE VEHICLES
According to the head of the committee, if none of the law enforcement state bodies show interest in the vehicles, they are put up for ordinary auctions.
CONTEXT
On 25 July 2025, the court found Perizat Kairat guilty, sentencing her to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. Her mother, Gaini Alashbayeva, received a 7-year prison sentence.
The court also ordered the recovery of material damages in favour of 50 victims amounting to 1 billion 582 million tenge, as well as legal costs and state fees.
It was previously reported that the confiscated Lexus LX600 SUV belonging to Perizat Kairat was transferred to the balance sheet of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM).The vehicle will be used for official tasks of state bodies.
