In Almaty, employees of the Department for Emergency Situations took part in the elections of deputies to the Kurultai, using absentee certificates to vote at their place of duty.

WHERE THE DEPARTMENT FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS EMPLOYEES VOTED
Voting across the country takes place on 23 August from 7:00 to 20:00 – these are the first elections to the Kurultai, the new unicameral legislative body of Kazakhstan. Following the vote, 145 deputies are to be elected to the new unicameral parliament for a term of five years.
Employees of the Department for Emergency Situations of the city of Almaty, including those coming on duty, voted at polling station No. 650, located in the Centre for Innovation and Creativity of the Nauryzbai district. The station also receives other voters in accordance with the established procedure.
WHY VOTING AT THE PLACE OF DUTY IS IMPORTANT
For emergency services employees, the opportunity to vote at their place of stay is of particular importance: the nature of their work involves shifts and the continuous provision of safety for residents, including on election day. Absentee certificates allow them to exercise their electoral right without taking time away from their duties.
THE SCALE OF THE ELECTIONS IN ALMATY
In the Nauryzbai district, all 63 polling stations are operating today. Across the city of Almaty as a whole, 670 stations have been organised, including stations set up in places of temporary residence for citizens.
