A criminal case has been opened in Astana following the fire in the Triathlon Park.

In the morning of 17 June, a fire broke out at one of the sites in the Astana Triathlon Park. Following the incident, the police took minors to the department and opened a criminal case for the intentional destruction of another person's property.

WHAT HAPPENED

According to the Department for Emergency Situations (DES) of Astana, a report of a fire on the territory of the park was received at the number "112" early in the morning.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene extinguished the fire in 6 minutes. The area of the fire was 25 square metres. There were no casualties as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

WHAT MEASURES DID LAW ENFORCEMENT TAKE

As reported by the Department of Police (DP) of Astana, after the fire, minors were taken to the police station.

“It has been preliminarily established that early in the morning, four minors, being without adult supervision on the territory of one of the capital’s parks, committed arson on the lawn,” the statement reads.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident under the article on intentional destruction of another person's property.

Also, the legal representatives of the minors will be held accountable for improper fulfilment of their duties in raising their children.
