In multi-storey buildings constructed for citizens who received housing under preferential status, residents have discovered cracks and gaps in the walls of their flats. Residents say they are afraid to stay in the buildings, which were handed over about two years ago.

WHAT HAPPENED

As reported by the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", residents of building No.39 filmed the gaps in the walls of their flats on video and published the footage on social media. The recording shows that in some flats the corners are beginning to pull apart.

According to the residents, they are frightened to remain in the building, even though the block was handed over about two years ago. At the same time, loans for the flats they received have not yet been paid off, and residents do not know where to turn given the current situation.

WHICH BUILDINGS HAVE DEFECTS

Building No.39 is not the only one where residents have discovered such problems. Cracks and gaps have also been found in some flats of neighbouring buildings No.40 and 41.

All three blocks were built by the same contractor — Aktobe-Saulet LLP.

HOW THE AUTHORITIES RESPONDED

The Aktobe construction department said the contractor would fix all identified defects and carry out the necessary repairs.

The residents' complaint has also been reviewed by the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of Aktobe Region.

Officials are considering whether to open an unscheduled inspection of those involved in the construction. It should determine whether the current architectural, urban planning and construction standards were observed during the construction of the buildings.
